Empowering Eager Learners with Career Opportunities
The Haldiram Educational Society has consciously invested its resources to support eager learners from weaker sections of society to help them become self-sufficient and career ready.
There are many eager learners in society. But many give up education due to lack of funds or other circumstantial challenges. The Haldiram Educational Society has consciously invested its resources to support such eager learners and help them become self-sufficient.
For this, the Society started its own Gyanshree Skill Hub initiative in 2023 (affiliated to CBSE Board) with the heart to support young learners from economically weaker sections of society by providing them courses that help them become job ready. Under the hub, it runs it’s the Haldiram Skill Academy, its first fully CSR funded initiative that falls under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (4.0).
All the courses are designed in a way that they contribute towards the overall skill and self-development of students. This includes equipping them with communication skills, disaster management know-how, personality development tips and employability skills. In Employability skills, they are taught soft skills, interpersonal skills and confidence building techniques.
Learners between the ages of 17-35 years with a minimum of Class 8 qualification are welcome to avail these learning opportunities.
So far, 462 students have successfully passed out from various courses and secured well-paid employment.
The academy is now running its 15th batch and, on its way, to organise an alumnus too.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (4.0)
Under this initiative, the academy offers job linked courses in Food and Hospitality, Beauty and Wellness, Fashion Technology and Drop the Q. In Food and Hospitality, learners are groomed to either take up jobs or become entrepreneurs or run family run small businesses. They are groomed in Multicuisine cooking that comprises Street food, Indian Sweets, Bakery & Confectionary and popular International Cuisine. They also have the option to learn about Food and Beverages (FnB) Services too. All these courses are available at a nominal fee of Rs. 5000 for 3 months (400-550 hours of training) including internship support. The fee is a simple way to create a sense of responsibility and ownership towards learning.
For each student, the government charges Rs. 25k from the academy for providing the curriculum structure and technical know-how. The academy gets Rs.20 k support from the CSR funds and charges Rs. 5k from the respective student.
Drop the Q
The academy also supports provision of waitering staff to a unique contactless waitering service provider called Drop the Q. Children are sent by the company to the academy for training in various parts of FnB apart from know-how on food technology. Many have been employed at the Haldiram's multicuisine restaurants too. By using a QR code and a mobile application, customers can avail this service in select Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs) and food courts across the city. All trained staff have found successful placements.
Skill India (Kaushal Bharat)
Under the guidance of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, GOI (Government of India) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), the academy started the Samarth Skill Training Programme in May2026. This programme is open to young learners that have cleared Class 5. This is fully funded by the government itself.
Currently the academy is providing training in EV (Electronic Vehicle) Technology and Maintenance Training along with opportunity to train as a Sewing machine operator, Fabric cutter or a Garment checker. Each course offers 330 hours of training. All the equipment is provided at the Haldiram Skill Academy under the GOI directions and comes with a certification from NSDC.
