Haldiram Educational Society receives State Level Bhamashah Award fifth time in a row
The society was recognised for its exceptional financial contributions made towards the overall development and upkeep of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Gurudwara Rani Bazaar
At the 30th State Level Bhamashah Award Ceremony held in Jaipur on June 29 at Birla Auditorium, Haldiram Educational Society was recognised for the fifth time in a row for its significant contribution in the field of education in Bikaner, especially for their support to the betterment of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Gurudwara Rani Bazaar. The Society has contributed over ₹3 crore to enhance the overall infrastructure of the school. Overall, the Society has made a financial contribution of over ₹12 crores.
The award was received by the Society's representative Ramesh Kumar Agrawal on behalf of the Society’s Director Shri Manoharlal Agarwal. The award was handed over by State Education Minister Madan Dilawar in the august presence of Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Dr. Premchand Bairwa.
Bikaner, which is called the city of philanthropists (Bhamashahs), is also the birthplace of Shri Ganga Bishen (Haldiram Ji) Agarwal. He was born in 1902. Since then, for five generations, his family has been contributing to social causes in Bikaner. In his memory, this year, the Haldiram Educational Society contributed to the betterment of infrastructure in the Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Gurudwara Rani Bazaar, costing over ₹3 crore. This included building new classrooms, installing digital boards in the classrooms, providing state-of-the-art furniture and facilities for the students, and giving girls modern education through a modern computer lab.
Till date, the Society has adopted five government schools in the district. This includes the Maharani Government Girls Senior Secondary School. With its monetary contribution, the princely-era glory of the building has now been restored. Along with providing a strength of 2000 plus students access to smartboards, clean toilets, drinking water, state-of-the-art educational labs and durable furniture, an advanced synthetic basketball court has been built to expand sports activities.
This kind of support looks after the overall development of the girl child and creates an ideal learning environment. Here, under the guidance of a coach in the mornings and evenings, these students not only get intensive basketball training but also bring pride to their school, city, and family through their achievements. These girls appear not only physically healthy but also mentally fit.
The Haldiram Society has also made the campus of the Government Senior Secondary Girls School, Soorsagar, magnificent. They have provided digital boards, modern furniture, and all necessary facilities in the school’s classrooms. Similarly, the facilities being provided at Murli Dhar Vyas Nagar's Mahatma Gandhi Government Senior Secondary School (English Medium) through them are unprecedented. The Society's representative Ramesh Agrawal continuously coordinates and interacts with the children.
The innovations the Society has carried out in Government Senior Secondary School, (Badhir- (Deaf and Mute), Bikaner) are also noteworthy. In an open environment, these deaf-mute children are naturally appreciated by the children themselves.
